Companions and Caregivers

Is an individual who assists the disabled or elderly with daily activities and perform various household tasks and run errands. Duties consist of—helping their clients with daily exercise and mobility, Perform various personal care—such as personal hygiene, dressing, eating, shaving. They also take client to various doctor appointments and social appointments; they assist clients with moving from in and out of bed, cars, wheelchairs, and baths. They also ensure that the resident is properly cleaned and laundry/ironing is completed as needed. They may organize various areas of the household and need to be able to prepare meals following specific dietary needs. They also may play various games with their employer, check vital signs and dispense medication properly, answer and deliver messages and complete all duties pertaining to the elders or disabled well being. They may travel with their client as needed for a specific amount of time. These positions can be either live-in or live-out.
